Finals Fashion: Put Your Best Shoe Forward

As a high school student, I understand that your wardrobe probably isn't the highest priority during Dead Week and Finals.  But looking good can give you that extra boost of confidence that may shine through on your exam.  So instead of rolling out of bed, throwing on your sweats, and heading to school looking (and feeling) like a bum, I dare you to get up a little extra early--if only during one of your finals days--and put on something cute. Study up on these cute (but still comfy) alternatives.

Tenacious in teal! Resist the urge to pull on those frumpy sweatpants, that fuzzy fleece zip-up, and those gosh-awful Uggs.  Take a deep breath.  Now reach for those gray-hued skinnies you haven't worn since that night on the town three weeks ago.  Grab for that slouchy turquoise blouse.  And accessorize with black biker boots, a big black bag, and trendy necklace.  Feeling like putting forth even more effort?  Wear a pretty aqua dress (bonus points for a trendy pussy-bow like this one!) and cover your legs with gray tights.  Shiny black riding boots, a black tote, and an ornate complete this pretty but studious ensemble.
Thou shalt not wine. While you may feel more dressed up than half the school in your boyfriend jeans and slouchy sweater, it takes just a bit of tweaking to take your outfit from drab to fab.  Skip the bf jeans and go for a form fitting pair of skinny jeans instead.  Ditch the oversized sweatshirt and replace it with a soft, skin-skimming sweater.  Booties with just the teeniest bit of heel, an adorable tote, simple jewelry, and a scarf that pulls it all together--now, that's more like it!  And for you overachievers out there... How about belting that cozy sweater dress at the waist and dressing it up with a floral scarf and bomber jacket?  Better yet, slide your legs into some lace patterned tights, pull on a pair of tan riding boots, and hit campus in the utmost of style.

Ultra violet.  Oh no!  Step back from the black leggings, hoodie, and fur-trimmed booties!  For the sake of all that is fashionable, opt for black skinnies instead.  Wear a simple button-up shirt with the arms rolled up.  And incorporate details like a sophisticated scarf, mens-inspired watch, leather tote, and cute gray biker booties.  Feel like turning the campus sidewalks into your runway?  A simple dress belted at the middle worn under a cardigan and over chevron-patterned tights is oh-so-posh.  Slip into some heeled booties and add in a geometric necklace... this get-up will take you from the lecture hall exam to FAC.

So I dare you!  Just one exam day--forget the sweats and go for something cute!  Fashion won't replace hours of studying, but extra ooomph! on a test day is always a good thing.
